Rocky

Poor Rocky had lived a life being neglected and unwanted. Fortunately his family surrendered him to The Dog Rescuers Inc as they no longer wished to keep him.  This was the best day for Rocky!  We at TDRI recognized that he needed one on one work and more TLC than an average foster home could provide, but Angela and Rick came highly recommended.  Our team arranged transport and crossed their fingers and paws and off Rocky went to learn "how to be a dog" and to develop a foundation that would give a foster family something to work with.  After 3 weeks Rocky came back a new little boy!  Rocky still has some issues that he is working through, but his foster Mom is able to build on the commands and positive experiences that R&R Pet Paradise gave him.  We are thankful for their TLC and patience with this great guy!  Rocky was a diamond in the "ruff" and they helped put him on a pathway where he is now finally happy and having fun!  Rocky is still looking for his forever family but in the meantime has quite the fan club!

Troy

Troy has ‘issues’ and is a big, strong dog.  But Troy is also ‘My Boy’ and I fret about him as much as I do the kids!  I needed to find a kennels that I could TRUST.  It was by sheer luck I found R&R Pet Paradise, online.  Rick and I spoke on the phone about what I required for Troy him and about what R&R could offer.
What a relief after our visit!  Rick was calm, assured and confident around Troy which was what we needed.  I felt happy to leave My Boy; safe in the knowledge he was with people who understood him and could provide for him as I did at home. He was secure and comfortable.  I didn’t expect Rick to be able to do much for Troy, apart from care for him, but I was thrilled to discover that Troy was able to get to swim on his visits.
People ask ‘Can’t you book your dog in kennels anywhere?’ ‘NO!’  I will choose R&R every time.  Thank you for making what could be a stressful experience for all, a pleasure!

Torrie & Hailey

My two little dynamos, Torrie and Hailey, are high-energy, people-loving Jack Russell terriers who love to visit and stay at R&R Pet Paradise. They happily trot off, knowing their time spent there will be filled with play and companionship.  I can leave them without worries knowing they will be safely cared for in the knowledgeable hands of Rick and Angela, who are true "dog people". They greet my "high maintenance" JRT's with genuine affection, and handle them with skills acquired during years of dog training. When it's time to go home, I hear of the fun Torrie and Hailey have had, and how well they have behaved.  For happy dogs, and for concienscious pet owners, this is truly paradise!

Genny & Rory

R&R Pet Paradise is truly a doggie paradise...what a yard!!! Rick and Angela are so kind and loving to the dogs. Rory and Genny are so happy to see them and check out their yard. The kennels are nice and clean and they are very organized in their care of each dog. My kids insist that the dogs go to R&R when we are away.

Molly

Since Molly joined our family in June 2009 we have boarded her at Pet Paradise 7 to 8 times for one to two weeks at a time. We have been very happy with her treatment. She arrives home happy and tired after much running around on the lovely grounds. She appears to have no qualms about going there and seems to remember her good times with Rick and Angela including becoming more adept at frisbee catching! We will continue to utilize this excellent facility as needed and feel confident Molly is in good hands.

Tallulah

Just a short note to let you know how much we appreciate and have appreciated in the past the wonderful care that our dog Tallulah has had at R&R Pet Paradise. She is a large puppy-Bernese Mountain Dog- and as such she doesn't know her own strength. She is a "lot of dog" and we find that she has learned quite a bit while at Pet Paradise. When she comes home she walks better and is very well-behaved. We trust Rick and Angela with her care. It is her home away from home and when we go away we have absolutely no worries about her care. She is excited when she arrives so we know she also believes she will have a good time when we are gone. Our dog is very important to us and to our whole family,especially our son Mike . We bought the dog for Mike when he was recuperating from a horrible accident and Tallulah has been a large part of his recovery. Needless to say, we would not have anyone else look after Tallulah now that we have found Rick and Angela and their Pet Paradise.

Arthur & Duncan

Imagine the panic I felt at having to find the perfect kennel at which to board my two utterly spoiled and indulged dogs. Arthur is 6 and Duncan 3, and neither had ever spent any time at all away from home without me.  They sleep on beds and couches and are absolutely adored by everyone in the family. Duncan is afraid of large or overly energetic dogs and also won’t get too close to anyone other than family.
After many hours spent online, I came upon R & R. I immediately felt that this kennel warranted a phone call. I had found a few kennels that were easier to get to and more on the route we were driving, but when I phoned, I just didn’t get a great vibe. The owners just left me feeling a little cold.
I phoned Rick and even though I’m sure he thought I was a little intense, he was patient and answered all of my questions. We took the boys out for a little visit and of course I sobbed when I left them for the entire afternoon we were apart. When I went back for them, there was sweet Duncan in Angela’s arms and Arthur jumping up against her legs!
I am extremely protective and dedicated to my “sweet angels of love”, and I would not hesitate again to call upon R & R for any boarding needs that we may have. It is a huge relief to be able to leave them with caring people who seem to understand their needs. I still sob when we pull away, but I know they’ll be well taken care of.

Jack

It came time for us to find a kennel for our "Jack", who has always stayed with "Grama" in the past.  I was very apprehensive that I would find a place that I'd be comfortable leaving Jack for an extended period of time.  After careful research, R&R Pet Paradise has fit the bill. Rick assured me that Jack's special needs would be looked after & he would get plenty of excersise & play time with other dogs.  I found the peace of mind I needed to go away & enjoy my vacation, while my boy was also having fun.  We love that R&R pet Paradise is a small, clean facility, with lots of room to run. Rick & Angela are true dog lovers.  R&R Pet Paradise is Jack's new vacation home.

Holly & Niska

We are so grateful to be able to leave our dogs with Rick and Angela at R&R Pet Paradise.  They give such excellent and thoughtful care that the dogs are usually a bit depressed when they come home!  They have been especially attentive and accommodating with regards to our dogs' special needs -- providing socializing opportunities for Niska and appropriate activities for Holly (who has hip dysplasia...and is extremely whiney!).

Ozzie & Sasha

It’s always hard leaving your dogs, but especially so at Christmas time.  You had mentioned to call or email while we were away if we wanted, that’s all that you needed to say...  We were a little aprehensive at first but decided “what the heck” !! You were quick to respond with detailed information  on how they were doing. Over the course of our holiday we kept in touch a couple of times and had many laughs over the stories you told us about thier day to day activities!
When they were picked up they didn’t smell doggy or kennel-like at all and their beds were clean. You even managed, very successfully to brush a dog that hates being brushed!!  You took very good care of our older dog with her medical conditions and seemed to enjoy our younger ones playfullness.  We had a great Christmas holiday, knowing that the dogs were well cared for. Seems we weren’t the only ones that had a great Christmas! You spoiled them with treats and dressed them up for the occasion!
I feel very confident in recommending R&R Pet Paradise to anyone looking for a home away from home for their dog while they take a vacation.  Thanx soooo much Rick and Angela for loving our dogs Almost as much as we do!!

Butter & Scotch

Our two very energetic and "high maintenance" labs love coming to R & R Pet Paradise!  With their large, maintained and fenced in yard (including pond) our dogs always come home happy, well-mannered, and exhausted. Rick and Angela are very accommodating to our care instructions, and often update us on how the dogs are doing while in their care.  We love that R & R Pet Paradise is a small and intimate facility that is extremely clean and organized and we know that our dogs get the great care they deserve. It is very convenient and relaxing to drop off and pick up our dogs, since they schedule times when we can say goodbye and discuss how everything went without having to rush.  We would not leave our dogs anywhere else.

ANNIE Musical

When we first were thinking of using a real dog for the role of ‘Sandy’ in our production of Annie, for the Grey-Wellington Theatre Guild, it seemed like a daunting task to find a dog who could learn the scene and perform it in front of the lights and audience. After several months of unsuccessfully looking for our ‘Sandy’ we had R&R Pet Paradise recommended to us by another trainer. It was a terrific experience working with Angela and Rick from the first phone call. They are extremely knowledgeable, friendly and great to work with. Rally completely surpassed any expectation that we had for him. Rally was a hard working, friendly and talented dog who had the audiences eating out of his paw from the minute he stepped on stage! After all of the work done trying to find someone to take on the challenge of training a dog for our play, it was astonishing to watch how quickly Angela was able to determine what we needed and was able to have Rally ready for rehearsal in less than a week! All of Angela’s efforts and suggestions were appreciated.  A very heartfelt thank you to Angela, Rick and Rally for everything. Now we just need to find another script with a part in it for Rally!

Kasey

The time finally came when I had to find a kennel for Kasey, my 10 yr old Bouvier. Our house/dog sitter was no longer available.  Luckily my vet gave me the R&R Pet Paradise website to check out. I really liked what I read about the personal care, only 10 kennels and lots of room to run in the country. When I talked with Rick I decided I was willing to drive 1&1/2 hrs. and leave Kasey in his care. Kasey did really well and Rick's super calm personality didn't seem fizzled by Kasey's in your face personality. Kasey has been back a second time and I am sure there will be more.

Rusty

We have had our dog Rusty stay at R&R Pet Paradise on several occasions. Rusty can be very intimidated by other dogs due to previous incidents at a dog park, but Angela and Rick always ensure he is well looked after and comfortable with any dogs he is in contact with. He gets lots of exercise and attention when he is there. They are true dog lovers and make us feel comfortable in leaving Rusty in their care.

Fred

I assume if you are perusing this page that you are looking for the BEST boarding facility for your beloved pet.  In my opinion, you need to look NO further, and, kudos for doing your homework.  I didn't, and my first and last experience with another kennel was a nightmare.  R & R Pet Paradise is now the only 'home away from home' worthy of our boy Fred.  When we arrive he is greeted and fussed over and I know Fred is excited and happy.  Rick, Angela and Virginia continue to give me peace of mind and comfort needed to assure me that Fred is well cared for.

Shelby

My dog Shelby is a rescue that came with a history of behavioral issues.  Although he has come a long way, I was looking for a kennel that would be understanding and knowledgeable of his history.
On arrival, my first impression was how well kept and beautiful the premises were. Shelby ran and chased birds in one of the fully-fenced yards.  Their calm and confident interaction with my dog put me at ease right away. They were also okay with feeding Shelby a special diet that he was accustomed to.  When I picked Shelby up he looked fantastic from all the exercise he received. He was also, clean, groomed, very content and slept for two days when he got home. He has been more attentive when called and is having more dog interaction at the park. Positive side effects from his stay I never expected.

Tyson & Nora

R&R Pet Paradise is a great spot to bring our two active dogs. The exercise Angela and Rick provide them with is top-notch. Our dogs get to run and play in a safe area while having play time with other dogs. The nature around this property is great for any dog as their minds can be intrigued by the sights and sounds. I love that Angela and Rick are dog parents and understand the bond that pets have with their owners. It is not “as tough” to leave the dogs when you know they are going to have a fun vacation too!

Lincoln

All I can say is WOW! Lincoln has returned from his stay with you a much more contented and social dog! Any reservations I may have had about boarding him (I have never had to board a dog before) are long gone. His manners have been impeccable since he is home and his self control is amazing…. I keep waiting for the honeymoon to be over! Obviously spending the week with you has been a very positive experience for Lincoln!  I gather there must have been some frisbee chasing going on since he never had any interest in it before and he was quick to pull it out of his toy basket when he came home!  Thank you so very much and I will have no doubts about leaving Lincoln with you the next time I am away!

Gizmo

My husband and I recently went on a 2-week trip to Hawaii and had to find a suitable boarding home for our dog, Gizmo. Gizmo is a very special part of our family and had never been boarded before so we were very anxious to find the right place. He and I went to look at a number of places but I didn't feel comfortable with any of them until I found R & R Pet Paradise near Mount Forest. Gizmo and I went to see their facilities a month or so before our trip and I knew immediately that he would be happy there. We had a worry-free trip and returned to find our Giz as happy and healthy as when we left him. Rick and Angela took exceptional care of him and treated him like one of their own. Their rates are very reasonable for the service we (and Giz) received. We are planning another trip next summer and would not hesitate to board him there again.

Rusty & Sadie

Rusty and Sadie are frequent boarders at R & R Pet Paradise.  Every time we board our dogs, my husband and I are confident of the excellent attention and care provided. Their facility is very warm, clean and inviting. The staff knowledgeable and experienced. We particularly worry about Rusty, as stated before our "senior” has special needs, but once we drop them off we feel like parents leaving our kids in very capable and safe hands.
Sadie, who is full of energy and “lacking” in people skills has been going to what we refer to as "puppy school" with Rick and Angela.  Their knowledge of dogs has not only helped Sadie understand and obey rules, but has also trained me in puppy ownership. I look forward to her next boarding, as every time she is at R & R she comes home a more well-behaved and obedient pet.

Casey

Casey is our 1-year old Springer Spaniel.  He is ... uh ... well ... very energetic. (His nickname at home is “The Brat.”)  Casey loves all dogs.  He likes lots of humans too -- but he can be ... nervous with strange humans. (Really, he just needs a minute or two, OK!?)
A visit to R & R Pet Paradise – “Uncle Rick’s and Angela’s Place!” we call it – is one that both of us look forward to.  At R & R, Casey gets the type of exercise he needs. Equally important, he gets the sound knowledge, patience and love of dogs that Uncle Rick -- I mean, Rick and Angela – are able to offer.  Casey and I recommend them.

Kelso & Lilli

My two dogs, Kelso and Lilli, have been to stay at R & R Pet Paradise several times since they opened this summer. Whether it was last minute or booked months in advance, they were always very accomodating. The facilities are clean, well kept and offer the perfect setting for a "mini vacation". I feel that Rick and Angela are true dog lovers, and its quite evident by the care they give to their own dogs as well as guests.

Eva & Cooper

Thank you Rick and Angela for taking such excellent care of Eva and Cooper while we were in Cuba for three weeks. You guys really know how to give the 5 star treatment - lots of exercise, frisbee playing, love and attention. Eva, always the anxious one, seemed really well-adjusted and greeted us with a frisbee in her mouth. I also really appreciate that we were able to leave them on a special diet which you prepared for them including my rather long list of supplements and Eva's eyedrops. They were clean and fresh smelling and in perfect condition when we picked them up. It is great to know our pups have a great place to stay when we head off on another vacation. Thanks again.

Sophie

I have had dogs all my life and they are a vey important part of the family and for all those years I would never even consider kenneling them- until I found R&R Pet Paradise. I recently bought a little Sheltie and she is our little princess and because I work , she goes to Rick for daycare and I have never worried one minute about her. I pick her up after work and she is happy and has played with other dogs and just had a wonderful day and I never thought that was possible to have your dog happy anywhere but with you. I recommend R&R Pet Parardise to everyone I know , not just for kenneling but also for training. They are the best!!!

Molly

Our dog Molly absolutely loves coming to R&R! Bringing her to R&R gives us peace of mind and comfort. We know that she is well taken care of and staying in a place where she gets a lot of attention and care. She is always so happy to see Rick & Angela greeting her when we arrive. We are so glad to have found a place that both Molly and we love! It truly is a 'pet paradise'!
